PRODUCTSTURBINES
For larger view, click image. Frame 3
This is the oldest heavy industrial gas turbines. Oklahoma Gas & Electric installed one of these units in 1949, it was a 3MW, fuel natural gas, simple cycle application. It was a model 3001A the unit is now retired. We carry a supply of as is and a limited supply of refurbished Frame 3 turbine parts. Due to the demand for parts and the retirement of these units, these parts are seldom needed. Some of these units operated on distillate oil, natural gas, and crude oil but the majority were dual fuel. From 1956 to 1976, six of the Frame 3 units were used for jet propulsion for the United State Maritime in Texas Bureau of Ship in New Jersey and 4 units were used by Chevron in San Francisco California.
Frame 5
The first Frame 5 was a model A which was installed in 1958 at Louisiana Power & Light in Monroe, Louisiana. Frame 5 gas turbine was a very popular turbine during the 1960's and 1970's. The Frame 5 has more models than any of the other gas turbines, there was the model A in late 50's, model D, E, G, H, J, K, L, and LA during the 1960's. The output range from 10 to 17MW. During the 1970's GE introduced the model M, N, and P. The output range from 18 to 26MW. The last Frame 5001P was installed in 1984 at Bordon Chemical Company located in New Orleans.
Frame 6
The Frame 6 gas turbine is the least popular of all the Frame units. Reason being is the relative small number of units located in the United States. The first Frame 6 was a model A installed in 1978 at Montana Dakota Utilities in Glendive Montana. The base load output was 33MW. Then came along the Frame 6B in 1984 and was installed at Amoco Chemical Company in La Porte Texas. The international market is flooded with Frame 6 units but they never were that popular in the United States.
